Spookworks set off on Stage 1 at the 2011 Rally of the Midlands

Thanks to Roger Clark Motorsport

Spookworks would like to personally thanks Olly and his team at Roger Clark  Motorsport for getting Spookworks out of a tricky situation at last weekends Rally of the Midlands.  As you know it was a great result for Spookworks with a second in class and 15th overall - but we had a few issues in scrutineering - particularly with a "faulty" 34mm turbo restrictor.  Quite rightly the MSA scrutineer would not let us continue with a faulty restrictor so we were in a bit of a pickle.  As these items rarely break we did not have a spare but when things looked bleak and time was running out a quick call to Olly at Roger Clark Motorsport and the cavalry was at hand.  They managed to loan us a working restrictor (albeit 32mm)  to get us through scrutineering and well, the rest is history.

I popped to RCM in Hinckley today to return the part and say thank you in person.  Their new premises are pretty impressive.  It would make Malcom Wilson jealous!  The range of parts they have is stunning.  I have no doubt that many Spookworks tokens will be finding their way to RCM very shortly.  Have a look for yourself at the link below.

I even saw the legendary gobstopper in the flesh!  Rumors are of a Gobstopper 2?

Watch this space as hopefully the Spookworks Subaru slowly obtains some RCM improvements....

Their finest hour?

Rally of Midlands 2011 - Spookworks grab a  quick breather before SS21
Spookworks is delighted to report a magnificent 15th Overall and 2nd in Class on this weekends Rally of the Midlands.

The  Spookworks crew kept it clean and tidy, avoiding the carnage around the stages to climb to 2nd in Class B13 - arguably one of the most competitive classes on the event.  the rally was not without its issues, brakes and tyres made the event not as straightforward as it might seem.  Full report to follow soon.

RAF News 15 June 2011

Spookworks again in the RAF News.  See pic attached for article.

Only 2 days to go until the Rally of the Midlands

Spookworks will be back in action in 2 days time at the Rally of the Midlands.  Based in Hinckley, Leicestershire the event has 24 stages with approx 120 stage miles connected by approx 80 road miles.  It's Round 2 of the RAF Rally Championship and as we are currently in 3rd place in the Championship after the D'Isis Rally we must get a good result to stop the others from pulling too far ahead.

The weather will be critical as the forecast is for rain.  We have four wheel drive so that will be a big advantage but the roads are fast, slippy and unforgiving. Tyre choice is going to be very important.  We have a choice of slicks, cut slicks or full wets so should be able to find something to work.  The car has had an oil change, spanner check and just needs some new pads which we will get once we meet up with Jonesy at Service.

We are car 53, so as the leaders start the event at 1730 we should be in stage at about 1756hrs give or take.  If you can't get to Hinckley to catch the action you could always listen to how we are going by tuning in to 107.9 Oak FM as they are covering the rally.
