Spookworks Back in Action!!

After a 6 month break, Spookworks will be competing in their first event for 2012 in the National Jim Clark Rally ( 1-2 June) centred around Duns in the Borders. Seeded at 48 out of a total of 77 entries, the Spookworks crew will tackle 102 special stage miles and 114 liasion miles over 10 stages.  It is the first time Spookworks have tackled the event and it should hopefully prove to be a highlight of their entire 2012 campaign. Despite the late start to the season the Spookworks boffins in the Spookworks technical department have been working hard to ensure the best possible preparation for car in 2012.  For example the Spookworks Impreza has seen significant improvements in the suspension with many steel parts being replaced with strong but light weight alloy variants (complete with Superpro bushes) to minimise weight. The brakes have been upgraded again thanks to Alcon with some fully floating 365mm front discs with DS3000 pads and some work has gone into improving cooling for the turbo, brakes and intercooler.

New and old.  The silver alloy arms are now fitted in place of the heavy steel arms (black; top)
The front right corner with alloy front suspension fitted. Brake disc has been removed.

The team was able to complete a successful shakedown at the recent RAF Festival of Motorsport held at Teeside Autodrome recently.  The Spookworks media team was on hand and managed to get some excellent pics which you can see below.  The day enabled some tweeking to recent components and the car proved in tip top condition for the challenge ahead.
